To coincide with the opening on 1 May of the exhibition 'Spirit Stones of China: The Ian and Susan Wilson Collection of Chinese stones, Paintings, and Related Scholars' Objects' and a symposium 'Stones in Chinese Culture' with papers by Stephen Little, John Hay, Judith Zeitlin and Philip Hu at The Art Institute of Chicago, this issue features a number of articles and two interview relating to these subjects. There is also an account by Rob Linrothe of the aesthetically beautiful and historically significant Buddhist treasures he was able to study during his visits to Zangskar and Ladakh.
