Venue: Gallery III, Art Museum, The Chinese University of Hong Kong
The exhibition features over 40 sets of horse-related artefacts from the Museum’s collection, organised into two thematic sections: “From Draft to Mount” and “Galloping for Desires”, exploring the subject from the perspectives of technology and culture respectively. Focusing on the significant, rich and diverse roles of horses throughout Chinese history, highlighted exhibits include exquisite paintings that capture the spirit and elegance of horses in various ways, such as the monumental One Hundred Steeds, as well as masterpieces by renowned horse painters including Zhang Mu (1607-1683) and Yin Shoushi (1919-1998).
