Hiromi Kinoshita. Reimagining the Chinese Galleries at the Philadelphia Museum of Art
The permanent Chinese galleries at the Philadelphia Museum of Art (PMA) opens to the public after the museum’s first comprehensive renovation and reinstallation in many decades. To make the collections visually engaging, thought-provoking and relevant to a wide audience, themes have been chosen to resonate with visitors in a meaningful way, highlighting important and distinctive concepts in Chinese art and culture. The galleries focuses on four key concepts or themes: belief in an afterlife; our place in nature and the cosmos; interactions and exchange; and meaning and order.
