The 5th Dhaka Art Summit
The 5th edition of Dhaka Art Summit, Seismic Movement সঞ্চারণ is a transformative nine-day experience in Bangladesh. The Summit is an event that can only be experienced in person given all the discursive programs and conversations woven into the exhibition and symposium format of this platform.
Anjalika Sagar and Kodwo Eshun of the Otolith Group are about to base themselves in the coastal city of Chittagong for a week-long workshop/seminar with students from the Asian University for Women (AUW) around the idea/philosophy of Blackness, decolonisation, and other ways of knowing and doing. The aim is to inspire a new generation of women cultural producers, exposing them to the ideas of radical curation, through the mediums of moving image, audio, performance, installation. Following the workshop, the participants, from Bangladesh, Vietnam, Nepal, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India, will take an active role as art mediators at the Dhaka Art Summit. This is a part of our ongoing work with Samdani Art Foundation and the British Council to develop Bangladeshi art professionals, and not only ones based in Dhaka.
The Dhaka Art Summit is FREE and requires no pre-registration.
