International Antiques Fair 2019
Celebrating its 12th year, the International Antiques Fair (IAF) will take place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 25 to 28 May, with a VIP opening on 24 May. Founded by William Chak, chairman of the Executive Committee of Hong Kong Art Craft Merchants Association, and Priscilla Chak, the fair is now managed by their son Ronald. Over seventy exhibitors from Europe, the US, mainland China, Hong Kong and elsewhere in Asia will gather for the event, bringing more than 10,000 artworks from both East and West.
Two special exhibitions will be on view: ‘Graces of Ancient Glassware’, featuring Chinese antique glassware from the PT collection, and ‘Beauty and Faith: Mingei and the Essence of Japanese Art’, held in collaboration with WADO PROJECT and introducing artists working in diverse fields whose art embraces nature. Appraisals will be available on 25 May, and there will also be a series of lectures on topics such as the Hong Kong antiques market, glassware, Japanese art and silver.
