A brilliant example of Madhubani folk-painting shows the Hindu god Siva. Around his waist is a tiger skin, around his neck coils a serpent; his matted locks flow behind him. The god of destruction and creation is an awesome figure in dominant colors of orange and violent pink. The whole figure exudes strength and vitality.
