Wendy Teasdill. Exhibition Review: 'Visions of the Divine'
Robert Beer’s work will be familiar to anyone with an interest in Tibet, as his superbly detailed iconography can be found from the covers and contents of Dharma books to mouse-mats and incense packets. The exhibition ‘Visions of the Divine’ at October Gallery in London (19 April-26 May) featured Beer’s work, as well as paintings by his mentor, the painter John F. B. Miles (1944-97), and thangkas and bronzes by contemporary Nepali artists. This compilation was accompanied by a series of talks by Beer.
